At the Milano Malpensa airport in Italy, the 13-year-old Terminal 2 is undergoing a remote control redevelopment programme. The runways at the Terminal, which exclusively serve budget airlines, are being resurfaced, upgraded and updated, and a versatile Hitachi ZX52U-3 is playing a vital role in this process.
Compagnia Italiana Construzioni (CIC), which is carrying out the upgrade of the Terminal, chose the ZX52U-3 due to its reliability, reach and compact size. The prompt delivery of the machine to the site was also a significant factor.
The mini excavator has been rented to CIC by Italy’s official Hitachi Construction Machinery (Europe) NV (HCME) dealer, SCAI. It is being used to dig trenches, install utilities, load materials on to trucks and carry out the final landscaping.
SCAI Salesman Giorgio Serati says: "The mini has a number of key benefits, including the fact that it is extremely quiet, both outside and inside the cab. Its boom and arm allow for deep excavation work and it is able to load Body massager to a height of up to four metres.
"From the operator’s point of view, the ZX52U-3 is great to use. The cab is fully air-conditioned and is well proportioned, despite the machine’s relatively jaw crusher. It is comfortable to use and the undercarriage provides superb stability. The bucket can also be changed quickly thanks to the functionality available inside the cab."
CIC was founded in 1929 andnow specialises in the civil and industrial construction and infrastructure sectors. It works on a wide range of complex projects, including: highways, runways and wheel loader; bridges; residential and industrial water treatment plants; sewerage and landfill systems; and the management of aggregate recycling facilities and composting plants.

Being an excavator operator for over 30 years, one of the highlights of the Digger Blogs recent visit to Caterpillar’s Malaga demonstration ground was to get a close up look at the company’s latest E Series hydraulic excavators, needless to say I liked what I saw.
The E Series range currently consists of four models, ranging from the 324E with an operating weight of 29,859 kg, up to the 50 ton class 349E which weighs from 47,800 – 53,300 kg, depending on specification. Three models were displayed at Malaga, the 31,639kg 329E, the 35,894kg 336E, and the aforementioned 349E.
The digger blog was given the opportunity to try out the 329E which replaced the outgoing 329D and as such I will focus this report on that model. The 329E is powered by Caterpillar’s C7.1 Acert engine and motor grader a net power output of 173kw. The machines design enhancements include 13% more net horsepower, less fuel consumption, and a 5% increase in lift capacity. New hydraulic refinements and an all new operator station, coupled with new safety and serviceability features, make the 329E a highly productive machine that can offer significant savings on operating costs and is eco friendly with its engine meeting stage IIIB emissions standards.
The 329E is fitted with a powerful, two pump, pilot operated hydraulic system which gives a fast response and fuel savings too. A new main control valve enhances oil flow efficiency, and a new electric regeneration valve in the boom circuit and a hydraulic type in the digging arm circuit minimize hydraulic flow for further fuel savings.
A selection of 3 different booms and 4 styles of digging arms can be cone crusher to suit individual customers needs; booms include reach, super long reach and mass excavation. Other new features include new quality large pressed steel rear panel doors for superb access to hydraulic components, and ground service points on the right hand side, and on the left for access to the side by side hydraulic oil cooler and radiator which can be tilted out for cleaning.
The cab, as one would expect is a very refined and spacious place to spend a long shift in. A new high resolution LCD display monitor is fitted and is 40% larger than on previous models. As is becoming the norm these days, the screen doubles up as a reversing camera when reverse tracking motion is selected. There is also an option to fit a further two cameras for even better all round vision.
There is also a choice of seats which can be heated, or in very hot climates an air cooled version can be specified, all standard seats come complete with full air suspension. Fully automatic air conditioning is standard as it should be in all machines these days in my opinion. There are plenty of ventilation outlets to hand to assist with getting that perfect air flow to the operator which I feel is impact crusher.
I spent a very brief few minutes on the machine as once again up take for “stick time” was high, so it was difficult to fully evaluate the machine, having said that the time I spent on it was enjoyable and the machine did everything I asked of it, smooth and powerful hydraulics and good digging & grading ability too. The E Series machines feature 3 working modes which include Eco, Standard and High Power, as per usual most manufacturers recommend working in the standard mode these days, but most “old school” operators like me prefer full power, which is what I quickly put the machine into. Having said that, there are considerable fuel savings to be made by operating the machine in standard mode, something many customers are taking very seriously in the current economic climate.
The machine on demo in Malaga was fitted with narrower track pads then we would usually specify in the UK market, but even with a full bucket extended over the side, the machine sat very stable, even when I tried to prompt a tilt by lowering the bucket sharply, which was impressive. With that my time in the seat was sadly over, and the machines auto idle engine shutdown heavy industry manufacturers my time in the 329E to an end.
Operator safety is high on the agenda with most manufacturers these days, and Caterpillar are no exception. The E series machines are fitted with powerful working lights, either standard halogen versions or the optional high intensity discharge lights, which are superb when working at night or early mornings. Anti skid access surfaces with good boot tread are fitted to the upper structure, along with ISO compliant hand rails to help prevent falls from height.
I hope to get another chance to try out other models in the E series range in the future, and hopefully I will be able to really put them to the test, my experience of them in Malaga has left me impressed and hungry for more E Series action!
Tube lighting is traditionally powered by fluorescent bulbs; these have a number of disadvantages, both for the person using them and for the LED ceiling light. The tone and quality of the light produced by fluorescent bulbs means that people who are regularly exposed to them for several hours a day can suffer from headaches and other conditions. Fluorescent contains mercury and other gases that can make them dangerous to humans, so maintaining and replacing them can be difficult and time consuming as they must be treated as hazardous waste when disposed of.
In contrast, the LED lamp that have been designed as an easy drop-in replacement for these fluorescent bulbs contain no mercury or toxic gases. As they contain no chemicals or toxins, they can be disposed of as regular waste. They also consume less than 60% of the energy used by fluorescent bulbs, with a lifespan of between 50,000 and 10,000 hours, making them highly cost-effective. Their operating temperature is only 100 degrees, not only helping to protect the fixture and surrounding surfaces, but making it easier to remove or replace the lighting without having to wait for it to cool down first. Most LED Tube Lights can fit well in the traditional fluorescent tube light fixtures – the only requirement is to either remove or bypass the ballast and starter if it’s there. As there is no need for a ballast, much of the effort of later replacing the tubes is removed. Perhaps most importantly, the dimmable LED bulbs of these replacement tubes is far less straining and unpleasant to the eyes.
I can still remember initiating regional marketing programs for multi-location electrical distributors while at GTE/Sylvania in the early 1990s’. A common theme would focus several dozen branches of an electrical supply house to promote energy saving products. Our sales representatives would update each branch on their sales vs. others in the chain every few weeks. It was not about winning “stuff” but putting a little extra effort into doing what they were paid to do anyway, while attempting to think outside of the box. I would deem a program worthwhile if it; raised our brand awareness within the ar111 LED lamp, helped us know the sales staff better and brought end users our way from the competition.
That same time period in Southern California was not unlike the last couple of years for our country as a whole. Aerospace spending was slashed, which resulted in foreclosures from Palmdale south through Orange County and into San Diego. When I transferred to OEM sales in the Midwest upon the Osram acquisition in 1993 my home sold for seventy percent of what I bought it for just a couple years earlier. My point is that our sales for the Los Angeles region were steadily moving forward despite tough economic times because of our resolve to build momentum by staying focused on a goal. The solid relationship between the multiple location electrical distributor and us, 3528 smd LED strip, was that goal.
The pressing economic challenge that greets each one of us in the present day is met by an equally large opportunity created by the advancement of LED technology for lighting products. The opportunity to capitalize on these products is open to all of us in the industry but does give favor to those in areas with higher electrical rates. The irony here is that we have a product that addresses our worlds’ resource shortage but is priced such that typically only the educated affluent or forward thinking will spend what is necessary to possess it. Rallying around such a commodity as to thoroughly understand its features and benefits will enhance our ability to sell it. It is common practice for the prudent manager or investor to dissect the complex to better understand the whole.
The business goal common to all of us in this sales driven world is to profitability sell more product. ar111 LED lamp products can replace a majority of sockets and fixtures in the country. They are of a newer technology and would cause the appropriate positive buzz around the front counter. It would be a perfect product to build inter-branch competitions on and display in showroom fixtures. Any manufacturer of Retrofit LED PAR lamps would be happy to profess their superior inherent and novel attributes to you. The mid America manufacturer of LED parking lot lights will find endless reasons why no one else can make the particular configuration of driver, lens and reflector. I challenge you to consider embracing a mindset of “a greater good” rather than current divisiveness.
By simply promoting LED lighting rather than exclusively MFR X, MFR Y or MFR Z LED products would be a start. Find several quality LED products that fit your customer base and give them a choice. Your more affluent customers are used to having a choice in their more expensive purchases. They are successful partly because the research and ask questions. Remember the affluent choose whether Mercedes, Audi, BMW or another vehicle suits their needs. You might find a faster sales cycle by offering choice, thus moving the industry forward faster. Your trusted key large lamp supplier might or might not tell you otherwise. The strength of your vendor relationships is one of few keys that distance you from the competition. It might be time to at least to fill in some of the open categories of your key lamp supplier with quality LED products. This is one product line that is steadily building momentum. My experience has been that when I offer choice, the best product for the application is reflecting LED downlight and we collectively win.
It started sometime ago in a laboratory in Menlo Park, LED tube. Every now and then it continues with the development of another source and then family of products. It is immaterial whether you have thought about it from this point of view, but the recent TEA PARTIES bring to my mind the pent up emotion that lies barely beneath the surface of time. Those involved in the application of LED products know exactly what I am alluding to. We can see in our mind the new fixture in place, the light distribution washing the surface and the electric meter revolving ever so slowly. Tensions diminish as change is implemented.
With LED in all of its forms in our toolbox, we can; design, advertise, market, brand, build, innovate and remodel with light like never before. It is no longer the same. No longer are the limitations energy efficiency or life, as design options are now king. Once you take hold of the enormity of this opportunity, excitement and passion should grip hold. It does not have to be a museum in Spain nor a high-rise in the U.A.E. The thirty year old, four storied, pillared office building that is only 65% leased become a possible canvas. Building owners are looking for ways to restore the once strong appeal of their real estate investments. The LED solution may market, advertise, innovate and brand the property as to energy saving LED bulbs. Make room for an explosion in Identity Lighting.
With the influx of new LED lighting coupled with traditional landscape lighting a creative wave of corporate expression is more feasible than ever. Millions are spent to attract commuters to eating establishments, hotels and shopping districts. Visual impact is the most influential sense that draws most individuals toward their desired goal. Strict municipal signage ordinances may be side stepped or eased by creatively bringing out architecture elegantly using LED products. A businesses shell can become an inviting wrapper at dusk, LED energy saving lamp. The recommendation of lighting as a permanent alternative advertising expenditure might win over a “conservative” client.
A recent client of mine that owns many apartment complexes across the country had us light their new entry monuments, clubhouse and surrounding landscaping along a major corridor in Oakland County. Thirty-six fixtures now draw less than 250 watts with LED. Prospective renters were calling immediately due to the increase in both visibility and aesthetics. Old becomes new by light reinvented. The thought process in creating a visual trademark is complex. Intensity, color, placement, voltage and restrictions must be thoroughly thought out. Image is important to any business and sensitivity to its current clientele cannot be over emphasized. The possibilities are endless as witnessed from the opening ceremonies of the recent Olympic games in China. LED ceiling lightjoin the revolution.
Ropes lights are a fun and versatile way to accent and decorate an indoor or outdoor space. 3w LED bulb lights can offer some advantages over other forms.
* They are almost 10 times brighter than the traditional rope lights
* They are suitable for both indoor and outdoor use
* They are available in multiple colours like Green, Blue, LED candle lamp spiral energy saving lamp, White, Multi-coloured etc.
* They are also available in different sizes as per customer requirements
* They save 90% more energy as compared to other old fashioned rope light
* They have a high lifetime of around 50,000 hours – far longer than traditional rope lights
* Unlike other rope lights, the they normally have fuse bulb, meaning that even if one bulb fails, the other bulbs are not affected
* As they use energy far more efficiently, they generate almost negligible heat, making them very safe to handle
* They are encased in a safe acrylic tubing, allowing them to be used in various weather conditions
* They are very easy to use
* They can be moulded into any shape – during festivals such as Christmas, this allows them to be moulded in fun shapes, such as animals, or Christmas trees.
* They are lighter in weight compared to the other energy efficient SMD LED spotlight rope lights
With all these benefits, it’s no wonder they are fast becoming more popular than traditional light ropes!
The B22 LED bulbs are high lumen CREE-XP LED, and can replace the traditional 50 watt incandescent bulbs providing the same light output. These amazing LED bulbs have the capacity to last as much as 30 times longer than ordinary bulbs, and as much as 4 times as ordinary low energy saving lamp. In comparison to both kinds of bulbs, the B22 LED bulbs outshine their competitors by using a fraction of the energy consumed.
Gone are the days of old-fashioned light bulbs, where consumers had to replace bulbs after a few months, if not weeks. The long lasting LED bulbs are the latest trend in the lighting industry, and have a variety of uses including domestic, industrial and directional lighting.
Some of the key advantages that the B22 LED bulbs have over their non-LED counterparts are:
* Significantly less power consumption directly resulting in reduced electricity bills.
* The lifetime of the B22 LED bulbs are much longer as compared to not only non-LED bulbs, but also low-energy bulbs. This takes away the necessity to replace these bulbs frequently.
* Due to advances in LED technology, the light output is much higher as compared to non- LED bulbs manufacturer. Especially in an industrial context, this means having to use fewer bulbs to light large areas.
* Finally, B22 LED bulbs generate a very low amount of heat as compared to traditional bulbs. This is because traditional bulbs waste a lot of energy to heat the filament.
As you can see, LED Light are much better as compared to other options available in the market. On an average, B22 LED bulbs are available in the market from as low as 16 €. Even though this may seem as a little more expensive than ordinary bulbs, in the long run, the B22 LED bulb pays for itself many times over.
Cold drawn Stainless Steel Seamless Tubes: round tube perforation → heating → → → Heading → pickling → oiled annealing (copper) → multi-pass cold drawn (cold) → billet tube straightening → → heat treatment → water pressure test ( testing) → mark → storage.
Cold drawn Stainless Steel Seamless Tubes rolling method than hot-rolled (extrusion seamless steel pipe) complex. First three steps of their production process is basically the same. The difference started from the nickel alloy pipe, after playing a round tube after the air to begin with annealing. Annealed to use a special acid pickling liquid. After pickling, oiling. Then followed through several times and then cold drawn pipe billet, special heat treatment. After heat treatment, will be straightening. After straightening pipe through metal detection machine sent from the conveyor belt (or water pressure test) for internal testing. If the pipe internal cracks, bubbles and other problems will be detected. After the pipe but also through strict quality control hand-selected. weld stainless steel pipe, the use of spray paint number, specification, production lot number. By crane into the warehouse.
